Product Description

The Alkaline Hydrogen Generator is an industrial hydrogen generator for on-site hydrogen production using alkaline water electrolysis with a 30% KOH liquid electrolyte: capacity 5–3000 Nm³/h, DC consumption 4.3–4.8 kWh/Nm³, purity ≥ 99.9% (optional ≥ 99.999%), load 20–110%. It is a proven, cost-effective alternative to bottled hydrogen and on-site methanol/ammonia cracking.

Working Principle: In a KOH electrolyzer, ~30% KOH solution circulates between electrodes; a diaphragm separates the anode and cathode compartments. Deionized water (≤ 5 μS/cm) enters the cell; under DC power, water electrolysis generates hydrogen at the cathode and oxygen at the anode. Gas-liquid separators and a hydrogen purification system (PSA) purify the product gases while the electrolyte is recirculated by a pump. A PLC regulates pressure, temperature and purity—enabling continuous, unattended hydrogen production.

KOH Circulation System — 30% KOH electrolyte tank with circulation pump and lye filter; supplies electrolyte to the stack and returns it for cooling and demineralization.

Heat Exchanger (Lye Cooling Loop) — Maintains electrolyte temperature at 70–90 °C for stable continuous operation of the hydrogen production system.
